Is Bonnisan Safe for Long-Term Use in Babies?

Where the welfare and health of infants are in question, all parents want to make the best choices. Many parents use natural remedies to help with digestion, boost appetite, and soothe colic or gas pain. One of the most popular Ayurvedic remedies among these remedies is Bonnisan syrup. People rely on the bonnisan syrup uses, but one question that comes to everybody’s mind is: Is Bonnisan long-term safe for babies?

What is Bonnisan?

Bonnisan is an Ayurvedic formulation made from herbal ingredients like Dill oil, Cardamom, Long Pepper, Indian Gooseberry (Amla), and other herbal extracts. It is usually used to:

  •     Improve digestion
  •     Relieve colic and gas
  •     Regulate appetite
  •     Induce healthy weight gain
  •     Improve overall digestion in infants and toddlers

Being a herb product, most of the parents find it to be a safer and healthier option than chemical medications.

How Does It Work?

The herbs used in Bonnisan calm down the baby’s digestive system. They hinder gas formation, allow stool to pass easily, and promote proper nutrient uptake from food. It is also meant to balance stomach acids and enzymes and calm down babies with perpetual crying due to stomach pain or gas.

Is It Safe for Long-Term Use?

Most parents have been taking Bonnisan regularly for a few months with no discernible side effects. But just because something is herbal does not imply that it can be consumed long-term without counsel.

A few things to remember:

Every Baby Is Different: What helps one baby might not help another. Some babies are more sensitive to some herbs.

No Serious Side Effects Reported: Very few side effects from the long-term use of Bonnisan have been reported. Scientific studies for long-term safety in infants, though, remain very limited.

Not Suitable for All Problems: If your infant is experiencing persistent digestive issues, one must identify the reason behind it and not just keep administering a syrup.

Ayurvedic Medicines Perform Better When Customized: In Ayurveda, the dosha (body type) of each child is different. The appropriate treatment can be prescribed by a trained Ayurvedic doctor according to your infant’s individual needs.

What Parents Can Do?

If you wish to administer Bonnisan to your baby for an extended time period — i.e., beyond a few weeks — it’s best to consult with an Ayurvedic doctor. They can determine whether your child really requires it and can guide you as to dosage and the length of time.

Also, watch for your baby to show changes in appetite, sleep, or stool. If you observe something unusual, stop the syrup and talk to a healthcare professional.

Bonnisan is a trustworthy product for many families, and it has helped many babies with common digestive problems. It is generally safe if used correctly. However, regular use should not be attempted without right medical advice — even if the product is natural.

Nature is not always harmless, especially in the case of babies. Always be cautious, keep an eye on your child at all times, and do not rely solely on over-the-counter drugs.

For optimal effect, seek advice from an Ayurvedic doctor before starting or for chronic use of Bonnisan. Your baby’s health is far too precious to risk on speculation.
